On May 15, 2018 in Hall 1 of the Sofia University 'St. Kliment Ohridski' four monographs were presented. They were written and published under project implemented by the 'Alma Mater' University humanitarian complex. The program leader and compiler of the 'Regional Studies' series is Prof. Ivan Parvev, Dr. habil. Two of the authors are scholars working at the Institute of Balkan Studies & Centre of Thracology - Prof. Alexandre Kostov, Dr. habil. and Prof. Roumiana Preshlenova, PhD.
The books included in the 'Regional Studies' series were presented by Prof. Ivan Ilchev, Dr. habil., corresponding member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. It includes the following titles: 'The Balkans and the Eastern Question (1688-1878)' by Ivan Parvev, 'Austro-Hungary and the Balkans (1878-1912)' by Roumiana Preshlenova, 'Transport and Communications in the Balkans (1800-1914)' by Alexandre Kostov, (IBSCT - BAS) and 'Venice, the Ottoman Empire and the Balkans (15-16 c.)' by Snezhana Rakova. These books key explore key aspects of the historical development of Southeastern Europe.
