Annotation: After the decay of the USSR, dismantling of the socialist camp and broadening of the EU many drastic metamorphoses took place in the South East European countries. These issues are still to be discussed and analyzed in depth by linguists, historians, ethnologists, sociologists, etc. Our multidisciplinary panel addresses the questions of the historical and cultural roots and the effects of the recent transformations in the area.
